Just got a nice 2003 Jetta TDI 90000kms, auto trans.
Called the dealer that it was serviced at and their last service record was for a complaint of unintended acceleration. Dealer says they found some oil in the intake and diagnosed it as a bad turbo. Previous owner traded it off after than, without having the turbo done.
Car runs fine for me. Pulled the lower intercooler hose and no oil came out, having said that it had only been a couple thousand kms since the dealer had done the same thing.
Question is, could the turbo be on the way out, or was the dealer just trying to sucker the previous owner into a new turbo?
