Hi, I need some help with diagnosing my brother's car, a 2006 Audi A3 gas engine. I'm posting here because 1) I own a MK4 TDI and 2) this forum is much more knowledgeable and helpful and active than VWVortex who suggested just take it to the dealer.
Anyways, the car has DSG and has the PRNDS flashing. We were able to manually shift the lever into neutral using the override switch and towed it back home. None of the lights show up on the shift lever but the strange part is the sunroof and the power seat does not work. Here's the VCDS scan:
I've noticed the solenoid to release Park does not actuate; no sound or movement at all. I do hear a relay click near the ignition which I assume is normal. I cleaned the solenoid with electric contact cleaner and visually inspected the wiring, and cleaned and lubed with dielectric grease.
I've gone through each fuse in the car. All were fine although I replaced about half the fuses because they looked a little burnt on the contacts but still fused nonetheless.
I've checked the immediate grounds near the DSG unit and battery, all appeared normal.
