I have read many times on these forums that larger injectors doesn't effect the quantity of fuel injected, it only injects it sooner; this is not true.
The fuel injected is directly proportional to the fuel injector size.
Think about a garden hose sprayer, the more you squeeze the nozzle the more water that comes out, it is directly proportional to how much you squeeze it. The opening gets larger and all other parameters remain the same.
This is why you install larger injectors for more horsepower and why you have to adjust the IQ in the computer so that it doesn't smoke.
When getting a tune two things are most affected, fuel quantity and air quantity.
You increase the IQ to tell the ECM that more fuel is being injected at idle and the ECM compensates for this difference at all RPM and power ranges.
I cannot say how exactly it compensates through the full range, however, I know at an idle it will move the quantity plunger less.
I wish I could say that we would be able to divide the smaller number into the larger number to see how much more is being injected. There are too many other variables to be able to do this.
Other variables which affect the actual quantity injected are fuel pressure, cylinder pressure, fuel size, and temperature.
