Good morning, my name is Ken and I need some assistance troubleshooting my daughters golf 1.9TDI engine. The issue is this, when I start the car after sitting overnight it starts slow and runs rough on idle and a lot of smoke from the exhaust. After running for a bit the idle levels out and smoke is a bit less. Also engine light is on. Also the car sat for one year not being ran.
After driving it a mile or two the smoke clears up and idles fine, shut the car off and restart is perfect.
So here is what has been done so far:
1. changed glow plugs
2. oil change
3. Injector purge
Could this be an injector issue?
