I have 2 TDI's. A 2000 Jetta and a 2001 Golf.
Yesterday the 109 relay in the 2000 Jetta went bad ( engine would crank over but would not start).
I took the 109 relay from my Golf and tried it in the Jetta. Problem solved!!! Engine started fine.
Later, just for the heck of it, I then took the BAD 109 relay I got from the Jetta and tried it in the Golf....NOTHING!! Engine would NOT EVEN CRANK!! I got lights on the dash ( except no glow plug light ). Engine would NOT turn over at all.
I then took the GOOD 109 relay out of the Jetta and put it back in the Golf. Still NOTHING!!! Engine will NOT turn over at all!!! Will NOT CRANK!! I am at a loss. What the hell is going on???? Anyone have any thoughts?
