Excellent maintenance (see below)
Major remodeling and construction projects looming mean new Ford Ranger is in, and my TDI GLS wagon will regrettably need to move on to new owner after one final July road trip. I am second owner of this car, which has spent its entire life in northern California. Last year of ALS engine and should provide many years of continued service. Excellent maintenance on engine, suspension, and drivetrain (see below). Interior very nice (no rips, tears, stains, or excessive wear), body good condition (scratches, etc commensurate with age, but no major dings or dents), zero rust, everything works, A/C blows cold.
Purchased from original local owner September, 2011 with 142K miles; numerous road trips during my six years of ownership. Consistent 48 MPG during mixed use. Extensive preventive maintenance by former mechanic including:
Complete front suspension overhaul January, 2014 at 202k miles:
-inner and outer CV joints overhauled with new boots
-installed new front wheel bearings
-installed Prothane control arm and sway bar bushings
-installed new ball joints
-installed new front strut/spring assemblies
-installed new rear shocks
-4 wheel alignment
Replaced MAF sensor and EGR valve at 248k miles
Replaced timing belt and water pump at 248k miles
Replaced front and rear brake pads and rotors at 249k miles
New Goodyear All Season Radial Tires at 266k miles
All basic maintenance performed on schedule with synthetic oil
Crutchfield audio input adapter using remote CD interface
Complete hardcopy VW factory maintenance and repair manuals
Faithful daily driver will be missed…$4500
Available late July after final road trip to Glacier National Park and Oshkosh
