The horn & steering wheel controls are not working, airbag light is NOT on.
VCDS scan shows:
Steering column control module
u0212 no communciations - intermittent
I have replaced the clock spring, with no change. I this has been replaced previously because there was a missing screw. The part number in the car & the one I replaced it with are both 5K0 953 549 B , is it possible this is the incorrect part number? according to below rosstech link it seems correct (the car has cruise & multifunction wheel etc.)

any suggestions?? all other column features work, wipers/ signals etc.
