Stuck Crankshaft??

dimanche 16 juillet 2017

So, back in May of 2016, I get stuck on the highway and got towed home. I was thinking the fuel injection pump went after reading stuff online (2000 Beetle TDI manual trans). Anyway, I had hopes of getting it fixed right away. Well, didn't go as planned. I started, but things happen. I got back to it this weekend and tried to figure out where I let off. I'm pretty much up to getting it to TDC. So I got out my Metalnerd tool and tried to move the cam shaft sprocket and it was tough. Actually skidded a tooth on the timing belt. Then I jacked the car, pulled the front left tire and put a socket and breaker bar on the crankshaft bolt. Nothing!! Charged up the battery and tried the starter. Still nothing!! Now I'm thinking something is frozen. Did some more online research. Got 3 of the 4 glow plugs out and put some Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders.

So now my question is: How do I get the last glow plug out (had issues in the past with them snapping) and what thoughts does anyone have about getting the engine freed up??

Thanks in advance.
