First off, this is not my car. It is a buddy of mine who bought this 2005 Passat sedan from Chris Farnham at VW of Langhorne back in September 2005.

Recently, the car starting blowing some white smoke. He took the car to one of the TDI gurus for a review. Suffice to say, the guru indicates it requires quite a bit of work. More than they want to put into the vehicle.

So, what he would like to know is if there is anyone on the forum willing to put out an offer on the car. He has an offer now but it looks like the car is likely going to the crusher.

The car info per owner:
1. 2005 VW Passat TDI - Dark Blue exterior, black interior
2. 150k miles
3. Car starts & runs but white smoke is present in exhaust
4. Rust on top of right front fender
5. Tires/Brakes in good condition
6. Driver's side and Passenger side drive shaft replaced 1.5 years ago (rxles.com)
7. Fuel door does not work with switch and must be open via trunk
8. Averaging 33+ mpg

TDI Guru feedback:
1. Turbo needs replacement
2. Timing belt needs replacement due to time since last change (not mileage). Water pump has small leak
3. Compression in engine is good and consistent across cylinders
4. Recommended a balance shaft delete
5. Cam is worn
6. Rear Driver side window does not function properly, possibly due to a missing clip in door
I know y'all will want pictures, so I told my buddy to get some to show any interested parties.
