Just something I've noticed. My '01 beetle is significantly louder than my '15 sportwagen. Neither is especially loud, but at least with the beetle, you know it's a diesel. On the new one, I feel like it could easily be mistaken for a gas engine. I don't want it to sound like a truck, but I think I'm one of the few people that actually likes the sound of a diesel at idle. I know it's some sound dampening and something to do with the common rail system, but I was just curious. In my search, I've already found that there's nothing I can do to get that sound in the. Ew one, which is fine
