So I refueled at a rest stop and my jeep isn't starting. Was driving fine when I turned it off and filled up. For any Canadians close to the mallorytown onroute off the 401 east bound, you know where I am.
I'm about 300km from home and about 150 from where I'm going.
When i turned the key to see thw Gp light prime and go out before cranking, the 180 relay was clicking for a couple seconds slowly, then the 109 relay started clicking significantly faster. GP light was blinking as fast as the relay was flashing. GP light is not doing its thinG so I figure there's a short somewhere in that electrical system.
I'm trying to find a loose ground wire or something that could be causing this but over the past hour I haven't found anything.
My ecu kept falling from its position so yesterday I zip tied it iN - didn't pinch wires. Worked fine for 300km and one start after that. I've moved it around unplugged etc and nothing.
After trying to start a dozen times, now the 180 doesn't click it just immediatly clicks the 109 relay when the key is turned to glow plug.
Any ideas would be appreciated! 416.570.1138 cell.
It's a 99 beetle motor on a stock ecu (80pin). No obd2 readers on me either.
