2005 Golf TDI, 70k miles, sounds normal with ac off, as soon as ac is turned on there is a loud noise I thought was a slipping belt. After replacing belt nothing changed. AC works perfectly, blows cold. The noise is a chirping/screeching sort of thing. Maybe there is slippage in the clutch? Sprayed windex on ac pulley while running and noise went away for a second but only because belt was slipping, started right back up as belt dried off. It has been driven for months like this with no change, just annoying/embarrassing. Now my 2006 Jetta MK5 is beginning to make a similar noise. Any help would be appreciated.
AC noise , Belt noise?
