So I've sifted through a bunch of the threads and tried trouble shooting it based off of those. The car is a 2004 Jetta TDI with 5spd swap and new timing belt.
Pulled the car into the garage to wash and wax it. Car started fine. Went to pull out three hours later and the car cranked but wouldn't start.
No lights on the dash
Tach moves a little when cranking
Glow plug light comes on and then goes off like normal - when cranking it will flash briefly but it's intermittent
ASV working fine
Fuel is being sent to motor - pulled line off filter and primed
Battery is good
Removed intake hose at ASV and still no start.
Noticed no oil on dipstick after no start - not blowing any smoke recently
Any ideas? all help is appreciated.
