NO cruise and flashing GP light then gone

jeudi 13 juillet 2017

Took the 04 to work today and the previously functional cruise control would not work and as I was driving, the GP light began flashing.
No panic, just went to work. Upon leaving for the day, I started the car and the GP light was still flashing.
However, about 100 yards down the road it stopped and the CC became operational again:confused:
Last week I did do some work on the cars previously installed trailer wiring; I replaced the corroded flat 4 connector with a new one but the old connector while still a flat 4 style had a 5th red wire which I believe controlled the trailer brake lights.
The new connector only had 4 wires so I spliced the red one onto the DS brown wire which controls the trailer running lights.
The trailer brake lights now function but when I step on the brake, the cars DS running light.
I know that brake light issues can trigger a flashing GP light.
The weather has been rainy though the car is garaged mostly.
Any ideas?
