Just had new tires (balanced and 4 wheel alignment) and a new steering gear (entire unit) installed. The old tires were pretty bad and did not ride well. I now notice a slight shimmy in the car (not the steering wheel) that seem to come from the right front (passenger side). It is most noticeable around 30-45 mph and when the car is under slight acceleration.
I took my car back to the shop. They checked it out. Their comment was that it might be the engine mount (s) going bad.
Does this make sense? Anybody else have a similar problem with resolution? I'm at 285k miles. Car is well maintained and runs great.
