So I have done nothing different and today the car fires. I tried cranking twice and it fired each time. This happened to me before as well and I did not think to consider this...
When this problem originally occurred (two Fridays ago 5:30 AM) while leaving for work. Car would not fire. Due to schedule, unable to look at it till following Tue. Tue around 1:00 PM I cranked the car which fired without a problem. Even drove it too/from Walmart for an errand. The following Friday, again the same problem leaving for work, no transportation.
Worked to diagnose Saturday when I discovered the lack of fuel (see post on Sun). Tried the multiple suggestions and the car not firing.
Today, around 1:00 PM again, I had connected my ODB-II and using ODB-Auto-Doctor, on a whim I decided to turn the key at which point the car started.
The car runs consistently and relatively smoothly when it fires.
I do not know if this changes the verdict(s) provided by JettaWreck and Burn_your_money. I'm hoping this additional information will lead to a much more desireable fix action than replacing the IP.
