Desert Jetta Reveal... it's about time!

mercredi 19 juillet 2017

Last September I flew down to Phoenix to purchase a rust and corrosion free Mk4 with 201k miles on the ODO. Single owner long distance commuter - 190 mile round trip. Owner had just cleaned the intake manifold, installed new BW VNT-15 turbo and Kerma High Milage TB kit trying to resolve low power issue.

I drove it home 1700+ miles even though it was way down on power. As soon as I got it home I replace the N75, vacuum lines and after market MAF. Full power was restored... yippee now the real work begins.
  • Flushed cooling system and replaced with G13
  • Flushed power steering system and replaced with Pentosin
  • Repaired ASV wiring & broken vacuum solenoid
  • Re-bushed subframe & LCA with Audi TT components
  • Replaced ball joints and tie rods - Lemforder
  • New Rein components for sway bar
  • New MOOG VR6 springs in all 4 corners
  • All new struts, shocks, mounts & bearings - Bilstein TC's & Lemforder
  • All new wheel bearing - FAG
  • All new rotors & brake pads - Akebono & ATE
  • New driver door lock module
  • Repaired cracked/broken driver door panel/card... tedious!
  • Paintless dent removal of 27 door dings... only $100 bucks!
  • Replaced front seat foam cushions with VW OE
  • Cleaned filthy interior fabric with Totally Awesome and Bissel machine
Car now drives, rides and handles perfectly for my needs. Everything works as it should and there are no codes/faults.
