Found this while searching for other project parts. Had this converted over 5 years ago, for my wagon and I guess the cool factor (and my interest) went away. Too many irons in the fire... I never got around to installing it.
If I remember the details properly, I sent Derek a TDI and a VR6 cluster and he worked his magic. All mount points on the cluster are intact. I don't see anything broken.
I sourced the MFA stalk, outside temp sensor and harness on my own. The harness is not cut... this is the complete length.
I couldn't locate the oil temp sensor, but anyone parting a 83/84 GTI will have it. It's M10x1, calibrated for 300°F and located in the filter mount.
$175 shipped to the lower 48 states.
