So I was driving along with the AC on in my 2003 Jetta TDI today and I notice the air becoming less cool and more humid. Along with this, I smell an awesome burning smell. Now when I leave the car idling in the driveway and turn the AC on and off there is no change in RPM.
I am assuming my compressor went and really dont want to replace it as this means opening up the system and what-not.
Anyone have any ideas on if I need to replace the entire compressor or is it a part that I might be able to swap out on the compressor while it is attached to the lines?
