The car is more than 13 years old, with 140K miles. But it runs strong, still gets 46 to 47 miles per gallon in stop and go Boston traffic. The AC is not working, I have not found time to check it. To make it run better, I may also need to replace the shocks and tie rods.
Looking for advice on these options:
1. Keep the 2004 Wagon, spend some time and money to make it better.
2. Get a 2015 Golf TDI sportswagon. I have not followed the dieselgate closely, is the engine as reliable as the BEW? It seems the Golf was made in Mexico, my 04 Wagon was made in Germany, very reliable so far, except the AC.
3. Get a new Golf wagon with a gas engine.
Thanks a lot!
