Audi A8 3.0TDi 2005

Hi all, I have a Audi A8, 2005, 3.0 V6 TDi. When I try to start it, it immediately splutters and turns off, strange thing is that when the MAF sensor is disconnected the engine starts up and runs fine. Changed the MAF sensor and same thing. Can't understand it.

I believe it is same engine in Passat v6 TDI?

Any help would be appreciated as it's worrying me and also wondering if it will cause any issues if I continue to drive it around with MAF sensor disconnected.

Connecting sensor shows up no faults on VCDS but car won't start and run, disconnecting it shows 000258 and 000260 DTC's
