Don't know how if this exactly applies to this forum, but i'll give it a whirl.



I was recently on a product training course with CAT and their CR based engines all have timed pumps. Specifically timed that the top of the compression stroke of the pump lines up with an injection event. The theory being if you time it properly, you can make a small pump act like a big one.



Question being, on the CP3 engines does the pump line up in gear selection so you can effectively time them to match compression with injection? Has anyone toyed with this concept and timed multiple pumps to maximize everything they can?

S400/S400 compounds

Just curious why you don't see many compound turbo setups using 2 s400. With the 400 frame turbo being stronger than a similar size 300 frame turbo wouldn't it be more reliable and be able to flow more with the larger turbine? Would you notice any gains taking a common 66/74/14 over a 80/96/1.32 and replace the 366 with a 466/83/1.0. I'm thinking about trying a 468 over a 84-88mm s400. Looking for some feedback on this idea. Thanks




01 Hard Starting

My 01 for the past week has been hard starting in the morning. Which is rare usually the truck fires on the first crank. It cranks for about 8-10 seconds and fires right up. Runs good and my fuel is still sitting at 15 psi. Any help would be appreciated.

OK I'm working on a 2.5 truck for MTTP rules. I'd like to make it for our rules but also cotpc so I can make the run out of state when we don't have a hook and make it to some big hooks. Our rules don't say anything about no runner intakes so I was going to run a side draft intake. However Cotpc says no "individual runner intakes". So technically a side draft isn't an "individual" runner intake. So are they allowing side draft intakes or no? If no what are guys doing? Cutting the intake off and bolting on a "stock appearing" intake? I'd like to figure out what direction I'm going with the head.




1000+ Single GTX4508R

I decided to give it one more shot with another set of injectors. below is the before and after graph while running the exact same tune; and the Dyno run to go along with them. Numbers on the street/Track are significantly higher than that on the Dyno. The old injector Pull netted me around 1068ish on the track per Comp D calculator, so im guestimating around 1150 with the new injectors on the street. Never the less I hit my goal and very happy with a solid 1000+ single charger Daily driver.

I stumbled across this early Powerstroke for sale down the street from my mom's. It caught my interest because it was so clean. I stopped and talked with the lady sitting in the garage. It looks bone stock. Very pretty. Reminded me of the 97 I had. Only negatives I found were a few dings the size of a quarter, fabric wear on driver's seat edge, and paint overspray on plastic splash liner in front of right rear wheel. "Apparent paint repair at some time in past." When I asked her husband's asking price, I expected somewhere between $5,000 and $7,500. She said $9,250. Somewhat shocked, I said thanks and left. BTW: That's my Cummins in the background. "He didn't seem offended that I stopped and asked about the Powerstroke. I didn't say anything to him about it either." ;)

Project Leftovers: The Rise of Frankenstein

A few months ago, long-time diesel enthusiast Todd W. approached me with the crazy idea of building a truck to compete in the Diesel Power Challenge. We'd both seen the competition morph from simple 5-600HP trucks with bolt-on parts into the current 1100+HP full blown street/race truck combinations of present. Another new trend is that all of the serious contenders have common rail diesel injection motors built on newer truck platforms that are less than 10 years old. Mechanical injection is a thing of the past at this competition and someone needs to "revive it" so to speak. Many claim the high altitude of Colorado has caused the older mechanical injection trucks to be non competitive due to spooling issues. Todd lives at 5,800 ft elevation and is no stranger to building and designing turbo setups that will spool at high altitude.



Our plan is simple: take Todd's "old" Green 98' Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 quad cab long bed with factory equipped 12 valve Cummins motor and transform it into a Diesel Power Challenge Candidate aka Frankenstein. The truck will remain true to its roots and retain a Cummins-based motor and P7100-based mechanical injection system.



Frankenstein will be built using predominantly leftover parts from past racing projects, multiple mixed and matched brands of turbos and coolers, and new parts as necessary to build a solid, reliable, and powerful DPC contender. This is not another zero budget junker truck build, it will have adequate funding combined with ingenuity to create a Monster.



We'd like to state from the get-go, this thread is meant to be both informational and promotional in an attempt to get Frankenstein, aka Green Monster, aka Todd's Truck voted into the Diesel Power Challenge in 2015.

Trackbar version 1.0

Over the weekend I decided to put new bushings in the wife's 07.5's trackbar (and build a dual steering stabilizer setup) since it was starting to get wobbly on bumps at speed. I fought death wobble in my 95 dually for a while and absolutely do not want her to have to worry about that.



As been said before, the Moog 2 piece bushings, and also all the 1 piece bushings, don't fit. They're too small. Some people have said you have to burn out the stock 1 piece bushing and reuse the steel sleeve, while others said nothing worked for them and they just spend the insane amount of money on an adjustable trackbar.



Well I picked up the 2 piece Moog bushing set and decided to give it a go. After getting the track bar out and the stock bushings burned out, I kept the steel sleeves in the trackbar and put the Moog bushings in: ~1/8" of room left for the bushing to slop around, the anti crush sleeve is 1/8" too narrow, and the ID of the sleeve is too small for the stock bolts. So obviously without that steel sleeve there would now be ~1/4" of room for the bushing to wobble around in as well as nothing to hold or support the bushing as the trackbar is only ~3/4" wide. The bushings need that outer steel sleeve.



The OD of the bushing is 1.5", which happens to be the same as the ID of the tube I use to build roll cages. The trackbar's ID of where the bushings press into also happen to be 1.75", which is the OD of the tube I use.



So I built my own sleeve. I cut a length 1 1/8" of 1 3/4" OD DOM and pressed it into the trackbar. Now this is a very loose press and not something I'd trust as is. I then preheated the trackbar (it's cast steel so it doesn't require preheat) and welded the steel sleeves into the trackbar (this is on both ends) and after it cooled down, I pushed the bushings into the sleeves I built (fairly tight fit).



Now the next issue to tackle was the anti-crush sleeve from Moog being the wrong width and ID. I liked that the stock anti-crush sleeve had knurling on both ends that contact the trackbar bracket, so I decided to reuse it. The issue was the ID of the bushing was 3/4" while the OD of the stock anti-crush sleeve was 1.054". (I torched out the bushings, that's the only way to get the stock anti-crush sleeve out) So out came the 1" drill bit. I drilled the ID of the bushings to 1" and pressed the 1.054" anti-crush sleeve into the bushing (this was a tight fit). So now I had a complete bushing setup on both ends that were tight with confidence of a lasting setup.



After another 20 min I had the trackbar in the truck and on a test drive. Between the new bushings and the dual steering stabilizers, there was a decent difference in the wobble, but it was still there, it just became under control very quickly. I'll max the caster out next weekend to assist in eliminating the wobble.



I don't have any in progress pictures of what I did, but if anyone's interested I can get a picture of the frame side end of the trackbar to get a loose visual of what I did. I figured that since I couldn't find any good information on how to re-bushing a trackbar for these trucks I'd toss this on here. But for $14.99 of bushings, 2 pieces of scrap tube, and 5 min with the torch and welder, I saved myself from buying a new trackbar, an insanely priced aftermarket adjustable, or from just building my own trackbar from 2" OD DOM with 1.25" heims.




New set up dyno #s guess..

Well as some of you know i threw a damper and cracked a flexplate last time out.. While its down, i few things are gonna change and i wanted to know what you guys think.. 780 is my last dyno, since then ive added ats dual cp3's, bumped up injectors from 120's to 175 exergys,changed fuel lines to half inch, dual electric fans, and seapped my 475 primary to a slighlty modded 480..whats it gonna dyno????

Je fait appel à votre lumière pour savoir comment je peut avoir une solution à ce PBM. Sachant que les utilisateurs normaux n'ont pas accès au maître (que l'admin application(pour maj données) et admin base(pour maintenance).

2001 7.3 still not running

Truck just shut off the other week, tested hpop it was putting 0 psi to both banks. Got a terminator t500 hpop. Put the new hpop, ipr , and icp sensor on. Still wont start, only getting 250-400 psi to both banks. Pulled the injectors and the orings seem good, the top of one injector is loose. Friday morn q1 of top dragster we decided to throw some more clutch to her & see if she would make it down the track . no luck , the threads on the clutch pedal linkage decided to give up on life as soon as I hit the throttle , cut a .041 light but pass was ruined.

q2 on Friday was supposed to happen between the first & second rounds of nitro but too many oil downs in round one of nitro bumped top dragster to Saturday morning .

Saturday morning .. fixed the darn pedal & pulled the clutch back to the old settings .. the bump was a 6.80 at that time so we figured we should settle down & try to make the show ... didn't happen .. tires shook & went sideways at the 100' mark, pedeled her down to the 1/8th & wham ! tires shook, pedeled her again & then the windshield goes dark .. fuel line came loose & had to lift at 5.9 into run.. wild ride, crowd loved it but we were disgusted . 7.12 at 178..

Saturday , 3 pm. now is our last chance . this session we ran right behind the fuel cars so we knew the track was perfect but bump was a 6.71 so we had to ramp her back up . It was wonderful to pull into the staging lanes while force , Hagen & the likes were strapping in ..people looked at us like we were driving a spaceship or something .... a cummins in the staging lanes with all these big boys lurking around, never thought I would see the day . So the fuel cars ran & top dragster took to the lanes, we were second pare , stands were full .

I rolled the old heap into the water box & began burn out .. she jumped up on the tire way differently than she has been doing , I guess the clutch did it , it felt right but was having to pedel a bunch on burnout to keep from over revving , then she got way sideways & I chopped the throttle & killed the beyotch !! I know better but it just happens sometimes if you don't get on the clutch just right . I was pissed & disgusted !!the guys rolled me back but we track boss wouldn't let us refire ... I'm so let down & sad that a rare opprutunity like this got by me. especially on my screw up .. it was a long hard weekend that ended with a major heartbreak. it will be a long time before I get another shot like that .

Anyone had problems with Nathan at MPI? Getting worried... please help!

Hey guys, I ended up going with a compound turbo setup from Nathan at MPI turbos because of all the good I had heard about his setups... But now I am getting a little worried... I dropped 5,100 bucks last June and I still dont have my turbo kit. Its almost October!! I was understanding at first because he was talking about how he had sourcing problems and CAT was eating up some turbo parts he needed or something... Then he was saying how HTT sent him the wrong housing or something.. he said he got one for a 2nd gen and had to send it back... He said he has "been in and out of the shop a lot lately" ...



So what in the world?? I know people can run into problems here and there and I am a really understanding guy, but this has taken forever! He originally said it was going to be done in a bout 3 weeks. Not 3 1/2 months! So, whats the deal? Do I need to get a refund from him or what? What would yall do? Does anyone have any inside information?



I went with him because he had been doing these kits for a long time and I didnt want to deal with any issues but now I am really worried.....:doh:

Looking in buying a new CTD

I recently sold my 05 cummins for a healthy price. I've been looking into getting another diesel truck I really want to get an 06,07 5.9 mega cab Cummins but getting hard-to-find with low miles.

I've been looking at the 214 cummins trucks the 1 ton and the 3/4 ton I drove a few of them they drove nice for stocks trucks. I just don't want the DEF EGR DPF stuff. it's hard to build power when you have all that crap on your motor.

If you delete all that stuff it's just going to totally kill the warrantee and the resale unless you put it all back which is a pain in the neck I don't know what to do any suggestions?

I haven't done a bunch of homework on it yet it's all still new but I wonder if there are any companies out there making programmers or deletes for these trucks yet. my buddy has a 212 and he did all that emissions delete and just recently sold it but it seems to run good but he spent a boatload of money to get the darn thing to fully deleted. so I wonder if it's even worth it , or to stick to the initial plan 06,07.




Valve Seal Issue

Customer has a 2001 24V, Installed a set of BD toing twins, At the same time did head gasket & studs. Had the head surfaced, new exhaust guides, valve job & seals, and Hamilton springs & pushrods done at the same time.

Customer took truck everything was great, Happy with the extra power/torque. Stopped by after about 2500 miles on the new set up, and said he was using oil, about 2 qt. Looked into it and found that the exhaust valve seals were trashed, intakes were fine. Put new intake & exhaust seals and sent him on his way. Stopped back after about a week, everything was great again.

3000 miles later, back again, using oil--again... Looked at he valve seals,and they were trashed, again. took #1 cylinder apart (rockes/springs off) measured the guide stick out and compared to a stock virgin head I had , and the height was with in .002 of old vs new guide. Asked the machine shop that did the work on he head if they sunk the valve back to factory specs after they surfaced the head. He said yes. Checked retainer to seal clearance next, Intake has about .020, Exhaust is none, Valve spring installed height is as per Hamilton specs, Cant see what changed to make retainer crash into the seals. Also top of valve seal is at the same height as the stock head,so they are on the guide the whole way..



Any ideas????




My new EDC is complete.

I sent the Dan Wesson ECO I bought out to a gunsmith friend for some minor upgrades. It took forever to get the sights but Novak finally got him a set of their 3 dot tritium sights. Had a Wilson Combat trigger put in, pull reset at 3.5lbs and all the over travel taken out. Those couple of things made it the gun I wanted. I put the Larry Davidson grips I had made back on it too...I have a thing for olive green on a black gun. I can't wait to get some shooting time this week to make sure it's sighted in and everything works then into a new TT Gunleather IWB holster it goes.

Nv4500 endplay question

Guys,





Ive got a NV here thats built to the point of setting endplay on the mainshaft. I have not done one of these in a few years, but I seem to remember that there is a special bearing race for the mainshaft, that makes it so the race extends fully into the case. Am I correct? As of right now the race would need ~.320 of shim to set endplay. Either I have the wrong bearing, or the wrong race. When I pulled the trans apart the last builder stacked shims for a total of .320, but I'm not about to put it back in like that.



I'll give zumbrota a call tomorrow, but I figured I'd get a head start by asking here.

What failed 48re?

Built tranny about 5 years of torture has a lock up switch. Got it really hot pulling a heavy load up hill. Burned the fluid badly Drained and filled no chunks in the pan but I think the discs may be worn out after all those years. The lock up switch no longer works but it is grounded properly and no issues found in wiring. Grounded wire under truck at the plug in after the resistor and nothing so what failed? I find it hard to believe the TQ is shot but what do you think. Something simple like the Lock up Soleniod shot? OR?

Timing question

I am trying to get ready to time my IP tomorrow and found a discrepancy.



The timing chart found here lists 20° as approx 5.9mm on a 180, but when I read the TSB procedure it lists 13.5 degrees as roughly the same lift. Where am I going wrong?

Well, my 5.9 block finally split. Lasted most the season at 1200hp, changed setup and was just shy of 1400hp on fuel and it didn't last long. The guys at Scheid suggested a Billet block for my 1400-1500hp goal for next season. Just looking to get some feedback from guys. I only want to do this one more time.

Truck is for Drag racing and needs to be able to handle a few passes without lots of cool down. Thinking a wet block will be necessary or at least partial.



Would like to use my Carrillo rods, new Forged Diamond pistons, tappets and wrist pins. Already have a fully built 6.7 side draft ported head i plan on re using. Most likely keeping my triple s474 setup as it worked pretty good.



Any opinions or feedback would be appreciated.

WTB Dual CP3 Radiator hose

I have been piecing together a dual cp3 kit on my 2005 Cummins. The only thing left I need is the radiator hose. I have a piece of stainless I can bend myself but I don't have a tubing bender so I was hoping to see if anybody had one laying around before I went to a muffler shop and got them to bend it for me. Ok, My last intro was not very detailed. Let me try again.



I have had a few diesels over ten years ago. I have owned, "in this order" a 96 2wd 6.5L Ex Cab Long Bed GMC 5spd 2500, an 01 2wd 24V Cummins Quad Cab Long Bed Dodge 5spd 2500, and a 97 2wd Powerstroke Ex Cab Long Bed Ford 5spd 2500. After roughly 13yrs, I now have another diesel. This one is the proverbial one owner "widow's truck". It is a bone stock 98 2wd 12V Cummins Quad Cab Long Bed Dodge Laramie Automatic 2500 with almost 145k. It came with the original window sticker and finance paperwork. I decided to name it after the passed original owner "Jim". I am looking to start my long journey of mods. It appears a member named Revemup15 is selling a turbo I am interested in, but the board won't let me contact him without at least 10 posts. Can anyone contact him for me? Perhaps he can in turn contact me about his turbo. THanks in advance, & I hope to gleam lotsa knowlege on a good combo power package for my truck. Perhaps I could get lucky enough to get in contact with a local 12V guru that can take a humble student under his wing.

Ol' Betsy is for sale

I bought this 67 D100 in Texas a few years ago to swap a cummins in and make a 4x4... But I don't have the heart to cut it up. It was a one owner all original truck that's 318 auto. It was repainted original color and it's not the best quality paint job. I have original wheels/hubcaps but has 17x9.5 Cragars on now. It has original spare tire under it. Has dealer installed A/C. Runs good and smooth with no smoke. The 2bbl Stromberg carb leaks down after sitting a few hours but after a few pumps it fires up again and purrs. It's auto 727 with shifter on the dash which is really cool and rare. Even inside the bed has original paint and it is not scratched up or dented. It does have a small rust hole dime sized in drivers side step area where it meets floor pan at spot welds. But that's all the rust. I just haven't driven it in 2 years and it will be a long time before I do anything to it so its for sale. I've never seen a old Dodge like this around here in Indiana. I like to be different and that's why I bought it. I have the stock grill that's perfect but it has a 71 grill in it now, I thought it looked better. 2388 Combine Won't Shut Off

I'm working on a mid '90's 2388 combine with the 8.3 Cummins. It had a mechanical inline injection pump.



It starts and runs perfect. When you move the throttle lever to the stop position, most of the time it will shut off like it is supposed to.



Occasionally though, instead of shutting down, it will just idle down to about 600 RPM. If you get in the engine compartment to play with the linkage and shut off lever nothing happens. An hour later it might shut off just like normal though.



Thoughts?

Ac condenser question

Might be a dumb question but has anyone ever mounted the Ac condenser behind the intercooler? Looks to be plenty of room. Maybe ale some brackets to bolt where transcooler is mounted. Only problem I see is the hardliners but might be able to bend them enough to make it work. Would keep it out of the way from getting beat up in front of the ic plus look better imo so it doesn't hide my aftermarket intercooler

Congrats Brett on a great night at the track that has been a long time coming. Made two passes on tune 3 and both were 8.9-8.8 at 158mph! It's amazing to see a street driven truck go this fast, big milestone for sure! It's awesome to see this happen to a great guy and family!!! Got the injectors from my truck. Going smaller their too much for what I wanna do. Set at 290 bar and cleaned by international fuel systems. About 1500 miles since cleaning and pop pressure setting. I got them used don't know hole size was just told they were 150hp injectors. Got them from here a while back. Comes with cartons and box says 155hp.

I have a 97 F250 ecsb 7.3 with a zf5. 216,000 miles Has a Dana 60 swapped front axle. Body is rusty all over. Truck has been sitting for two years. Still runs good and smooth. Gérer par le serveur PostgreSQL des fichiers stockés sur disque

Bonjour à tous,


Je cherche un moyen de gérer des documents externes à la base (images, pdf...) stockés dans un répertoire du serveur, directement par des fonctions stockées sur le serveur.


Imaginons une table 'documents' contenant des chemins d'accès aux fichiers (stockés sur le serveur C:\documents\image.jpg).

Un poste client sur le réseau pourrait-il récupérer via une requête un document stocké sur le serveur ?

Ce même poste pourrait-il créer un document dans le répertoire du serveur ?


Ceci pour éviter de stocker les images dans la base SQL en conservant un fonctionnement en réseau sans partage de disque ou autre réglage externes.

03 3500 4x4 6 speed mild 12v project.

Hey guys I'm selling an 03 project truck. I'm working on the road now and have no time for my toys so I'm cutting my losses. I'm out of town right now and just have a few pics of it. I will get more when I'm back home.



Cr threw a rod so and rebuilt 12v was put in.



All cummins bearings and head gasket. All other gaskets were interstate mcb



Mahle replacement pistons



Block is a 98 storm block 215 pump. Crazy carls app kit for throttle linkage.



5x12 injectors



Arp 425 studs



Head is ported and polished and o ringed



Colt 181/210 cam



3 piece manifold and a htt 62/65 13 ss



The truck has all options except sunroof. It has 180k on the body. It has a few bubbles starting on the bed I'll get some pictures of that also when I get back. Truck has b and w turnover ball and brake controller.



So here's what it needs:

It still has ECM and untouched harness. I adapted all sensors over but I cannot get a tach signal from it. Oil pressure works on the dash when it's running.



Needs exhaust and intake built for it.



Also some little crap the return for power steering plumbed and lower radiator hose. Truck also has flex a lite fans on it.



It needs a fuel shutoff wired or pull cable put on.



I'm asking 15 for it. Which I think is fair it does not need that much work to be drivable. Would also take some off if I could keep the turbo. Had intentions of building a small set of twins.

john deere 855

I have a John Deere 855 i use for mowing with a 72" belly mower on it. The tractor is in good shape and it start up as soon a you turn the key and runs great with 1706 hrs on it. i dont know if im just being paranoid since i love this little tractor but it smokes white when its cold and until it warms up. Not a lot but enough haze to notice. Once its warm no smoke it runs clean. Just wondering if the injectors need tested or if its normal?

Tough gremlin to figure out

Hi all, I have a 07 king ranch that I recently purchased second hand. So far, things I did was a EGR delete w/new oil cooler, studs, gaskets, serviced all fluids, flushed cooling system. All new filters (motorcraft) re-soldered ficm (it actually worked lol) straight pipe exhaust and sct x3 with custom SPD tune (regular lock up) from Chris B. over at truck source diesel. My problem is something I can't find anywhere on the internet. So lately my truck exhaust note has become quieter. When I get at it wot , it doesn't have that famous straight pipe sound. It almost sounds like I put a muffler on it. You can still hear some rumble, but not the loud rattle that wakes up the neighborhood. Another thing is some days, the sound comes back and sounds fine. This recently started happening. I've been driving around with mods stated above for about 3 weeks before problem accured. No codes, no loss of power or boost. Only thing I notice different is that when I open her up, and let off the throttle, I hear almost like a pshhhhhh sound. I guess u can say kinda like a wastegate but not a turbo fart. I'm fairly new to a powerstroke so please any help will be appreciated. Don't worry about my name and sig cause that's my older truck. Thanks!
