I ran the old F350 at BD diesel to see what it would put down. A few years back it did 411 in a turbo that was too large for my setup and ran 412. That was a 64/71/14.. I could not seem to keep it light and as a daily driver and towing was horrible.
So I ran a HE351CW and it was great.. It spooled awesome but boy did it ever feel held back.
I swapped the HE351CW for a 63/68/12 and that was great. Turbo spools awesome, great EGTs, great drive ability.
So with the 64/71/14 I had run 412 hp.. With the 63/68/12 I ran 400 even. The 63 pulls way harder and runs way nicer, but was surprised to see it at 12 hp less.
Was looking to build a 500 ish hp truck, and an wondering where I am giving up my hp? Any suggestions on my setup to pick up a few hp?
