Ecm pcm

I had to get a new ECM and PCM . My question is I have smarty download in it. Can I just take the truck back to stock, pull the smarty out. Then put new ECM in, and reload it once the new ones in and be fine? And how do I unlock the smarty. Never had to do it before. Thanks
