New To Forum...Fueling issues???

lundi 9 mars 2015

Hi all, i been lurking the forums for a few years now and through your write ups ive built a pretty fine truck, so do thank you all for your detailed post, they've been very helpfull.

With that said i am now coming to you with a few issues/concerns that i have at this point in my build, Mods are as follows:

Timing18*, 5x.14s,tuned AFC- No Plate, TSS devilery valves, 4k GSK, 60# springs, and Racked Backyard Barrels

STOCK: Turbo and Clutch OOOUUUCCCHHH!

So my question and concern is that with all this fuel on stock turbo i should be WAY over fueled, correct? My problem was that i was not having the top end i though i should with those fueling MODS and the 4ks, I would get to about 3 grand and wouldnt seem to pull much past it, with no smoke (im not looking for smoke just using it as an indicator). So i Pulled my overflow valve and did the pen spring MOD and cleaned the pre fuel heater (which was trashed) and now it runs ALOT better and seems to get to 3200-3300 pretty good. Now i figured with the way the fueling is set up i wouldnt be able to clear the smoke, which i am, but im still hitting 1800* EGT (with a Glowshift Pyro that goes in and out and jumps from 500*to 1600* and back on the highway sometimes) but with no smoke barely a haze. So i finally decided to hook up my fuel pressure gauge yesterday and it reads 45-50 at idle, Normal?High?? I have a bad sending unit in the tank and ran out of diesel and now that i got er back alive im seeing 50 psi at idle and then up to 80-90 psi driving and when i get on it it drops but not like it should! (Could be CHEAPO Glowshift Gauges????) Switching to Autometer in next few weeks hoping its the gauges shot not something else.

So would running out of diesel mess with my fuel pressure causing it to jump up? im really not wanting to blow a seal and get it benched at this point...

Should i take the Pen spring out of the OFV? I feel like i might loose some top end, Only other thing I can think of would be lift pump not keeping up but i figured id be way over fueling the turbo causing tons of smoke if i had enough for the lift not to keep up??

Can someone help point me in the right direction?

Thanks for the help!
