Scsb build.

jeudi 23 octobre 2014

Hello guys I'm in the process of building a scsb 12v. It's going to be a long process. I have the other two trucks in my signature. I've owned my 94 since 2005. I rebuilt the engine in 2008 fram filter plugged the piston cooling nozzle. This was the first engine I've ever rebuilt in my life at that time being a diesel mechanic. Fast forward to now I work at a major natural gas company building Engines for a living. I've been a member for some time I read a lot and search. I have a few engine questions. I want to build a hot street truck. I've been looking towards a set of compounds 363 over a 475. My questions lie in the short block. This truck is a 215hp 98 truck. Will stock pistons being non coated or coated work? Are stock style cummins rings or total seals the way to go? On ring gap and bearing clearance is it wise to have a little more clearance toward the upper limit to spec? Anything else wise to do like stud the mains balance the rotating assy and hd rod bolts? Thanks for the help I appreciate it. I may be thinking too hard but want to do it right.
