I have for trade a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins diesel, Laramie, 4x4, extended cab long box, automatic with 300,000 miles. The truck runs and drives perfectly. It was a southern truck and been in NY for three years and never driven in the winter. In the spring of 2013 I put new front brake pads and rotors on it, new tie rods and new drag link, new power steering box, new governor pressure transducer, new Borg warner governor pressure solinoid. As well as new BFG tires and Pro Comp wheels.
The body of the truck is pretty much perfect, except for a small dent under the passenger rear window. I consider the paint to be pretty good, it has a few spots where the paint is peeling back. I think that's a function of a bad paint code and being in the south it's whole life. Aside from the pealing paint it buffs out great and looks great. After all it is 18 years old.
The interior is decent. The dash is cracked and headliner needs to be replaced. I have a new headliner, just haven't got ambitious enough to replace it or the dash.
Mechanically the truck is very very sound, I would drive it across the country tomorrow if I had to, just put fuel in it. There is absolutely no blow by, even at 300,000 miles. The truck is all stock aside from a #10 fuel plate, K&N cold air intake and a 4" turbo back MBRP exhaust.
Maybe this should be in the "barter" section more than the for sale section, since I'd rather trade than sell. But since this is a for sale section I 'd ask $10,00 for the truck.
As far as trades, I'm looking for a standard cab, 2 wheel drive 12 valve or early common rail. I'd prefer something with a close to stock engine. Depending on what you have I may need some cash, too.
