Another new guy digging in this vast open internet and stumbled upon this site. Figured I would register and take a look around.
The reason for my internet searching is, a good friend of mine has asked me to help him out with his pulling tractor this fall and winter. A little bit of info on it. It is a modified (little bit of home built) with a 855 cid (14L) Detroit 60 series on it and it needs more power. We are looking into compounds and they have already made one attempt before I got involved. They have a GT5523 primary blowing in a GT 4708 I believe (not 100% on the secondary yet. It seems to me that they need twin GT5523's blowing into a 3rd GT5523 if they are going to see the hp they want but that will have to wait till the snow starts flying.
Now these guys are good old pullers from the 70's so even mentioning the idea of wastegating the secondary turbo raised eyebrows. Lol. This is some of the reason for searching. I want to be sure in what I suggest so knowledge is my friend in this game.
We ended up just sealing up some connections and getting it ready for a pull this weekend. Time will tell on the combo we end up with.
