Turbos and turbo parts

Have a few turbos that I have collected over the years and I'm sick of looking at them. All prices are obo plus the shipping.



First is a hx40w, good core needs turbine wheel as the engine ate a piston and it has a couple dings in it. Bearings are tight, compressor wheel and cover is good, I tore the charger down to rob the oil seal ring on the exhaust side as I needed one in a pinch. $100Click the image to open in full size. 99 cummins auto ECM

looking for an ECM for a 99 cummins auto.




Delivery valves

I'm looking for a set of stock 215 delivery valves or even full cuts. Have a set of competition DV's now and it's just to much for the street want something more mild.




99 24v reg cab long box part out

I bought this truck two years ago. I drove it as a winter beater this year and still currently driving it. Now it's beyond repair and time to part it out. I'm taking everything I need to do a 5 speed conversion out of it and putting it in my other second gen. The rest is for sale. The body is rotted beyond saving.



Motor- 162,xxx miles on it. Runs good only issues are the vp44 started leaking so it's hard starting because it loses its prime. The turbo has a small exhaust leak between the cast hx35 elbow and the exhaust housing. It has new return oem injector return lines, starter, crank positioning sensor, power steering lines. All of those parts were put on before fall. $1800 with everything on the motor.



Dana 60 axle- both axle seals leak. New caliper on passenger side. CAD housing leaks since I owned the the truck. Has a posi lock cable in the CAD housing. $400





Dana 80- I don't really want to part with it but if someone makes me a good offer I'd sell it. Has drum brakes. New drums and shoes this fall. It's missing the lever on the passenger side for the parking brake so I do not have parking brake cables attached to them. I lost the arm/lever somewhere in my garage. It has yet to be found.



Transfer case- DLD I spilt it open this winter and checked everything out. Everything looked good, nothing wore out or broken. $400





All other parts please ask me for prices. I'm also keeping the dash because its not cracked.

newbie

New to the site and new to diesels. Going to try and learn the pros and cons and how to get the best miles and performance. A friend got me hooked telling me about methanol/windshield fluid (snow kit?) along with propane injection. Sounded too good to pass up. I've always been a gas burner. Aways into 4x4 and lifted trucks. thanks for the use of your forum.



Also I am from the middle Tennesee area.




how hard to change flexplate 500 miles from home

From my diagnosing and couple conversations with performance shops, I believe I have either cracked my flexplate or its coming loose. I'm working 500 miles from home in a man camp south of Williston, ND. How fixable is this in the dirt parking lot? can I just undo drive lines and mounting bolts and slide everything back to get access to swap flexplates? I'll be putting a billet one back in. It's an early '04, 2500, cc, sb, 4x4. I am all to familiar with taking nv4500's out on my two previous trucks, but this is my first auto. Can I just go to Tractor Supply and get a floor jack and get lucky scooting or.......?

Laugh of the day!

Here's my :doh: moment :bang Long night getting a engine swap done had to swap a crank and got it done put the front cover on perfect. This morning swapped the front parts over from the wasted engine and mounted everything last thing was the CP3 didn't feel like pulling it off first this morning. Got the puller popped the gear walked over to the new build and dropped my jaw. :redx: In some sort of delirium I forgot to put the gear in BEFORE PUTTING THE COVER ON! :bang:bang HOPE THIS MAKES YOUR DAY BETTER!

Mine just got real bad!:doh:

Compressor surge and no power after radiator replacement

I have a 2004 f250 stock except for k&n intake. Truck has 168,000 miles on it. Yesterday I replaced a cracked radiator and drove it around town for a while and it ran fine. Started it up this morning and it has no power and compressor surge. Excessive black smoke is also coming out of the exhaust under load. I know I didn't touch anything around the turbo and usually don't believe in coincidences like these. Any help would be appreciated :thankyou2:




True crew cab second gen paint color?

I'm currently having a 94 crew cab longbed restored. Well, paint should be sprayed this week, then it's off for the 4x4 conversion/performane parts by turbomatt1 here on the forum. He's already got the parts and long arm lift.

At this point in my life, light tan with a moderate lift and stock wheels and tires would fit me, but I want it to stand out for my kids to have fun riding around in. They're 10 and 13. Against my style, I've already purchased a new set of 24x12 black rockstars and a set of 37x13.50 24 interco m16 tires.

Should I shoot for standing out with a grabber, Laguna seca, or Cosmo blue color with a flat black hood and grill, or a typical charcoal/silver? Opinions are appreciated. What will be the best combo for my kids to love and for me not to puke? I have to tell the early in the upcoming week.



Oh yeah, I also have a new bodystyle bumper with fog lights on the way, a really cool light bar, a winch, etc for it.

Wh1c on 92

So my friend dropped his 92' auto at my house with some parts. We did the gauges, denny 2 pin, 366 spring, cranked the power screw in until it got snug, indexed the throttle 1 more slot. He just scored a clean wh1c so we plan on punching through the divider and opening up the wastegate hole a little. What injectors would work well with this charger? I was thinking 5x14s maybe? He has factory 4.10s and I'm in the process of installing a 6" skyjacker lift so he can run 37" tires. Almost no towing just wants some show and go. My friend watched me build up my 2nd gen but decided to go with a 1st gen. He might go compounds later so that could play a part with injector size so we wouldn't have to buy twice just maybe turn the pump down a little? Haven't done the timing yet or ksb wire tap.



He wants to be able to get into the low 14s at least. I know a tranny build is on list for this winter.

Ok so I'd like to get a couple of opinions on rods, I want to go with a set of billet rods but don't have the coin for this build. I'm lookin into a set of hardened rods but just unsure about them. I'm shooting for mid 900s hp wise and want to do a couple of 1/4 miles passes, and hook up to a sled every now and again. So the big question is should I just hold off until I have the money for billet or would hardened rods be ok for what I'm lookin to do? Thanks

98 12v low mi

I listed my truck awhile back and thought I sold it. I was wrong.

So now its on Ebay. Item # 201098617546

The description is on ebay, the truck has not been scrubbed underneath, or had any touch up work. Its just that clean, no wear on the rockers from getting in and out, for ya'll up north it has no rust. Zoom the pics on the underside and the engine compartment.

It has rails in the bed for 5th wheel hitch, and also has an air gate with it.

There might be trucks out there as clean as this one but they were pressure washed underneath to get there.

I think the truck should bring over $10,000, the reserve is at $8,500 very low for a 75,000 mile, 12v, quad cab dually. This truck parked in a garage is an investment, it will only go up in value.

Feel free to bid all you want, just stop before you get to the reserve unless you are prepared to purchase.

timing question

I know this has probably been asked before but I can't find it. I just switched to a 6.7 crank in my 2.6 cummins and was wondering just a ball park of what timing I should run? Please no bashing I'm trying to learn. Thank you




Fuel Knock

Hey guys so I have a buddy that has 04 Cummins that started having an injector issue. I pulled his injectors and sent them to II to be rebuild as 100hp over. Last night I got them installed and everything buttoned up. Onece we got the air out of the lines and got it to fire up we noticed a knock and a slight miss! I have UN wired each injector one at a time to try to diagnose a stuck injector and found one that doesn't change any thing very much but the knock is still there. The knock clears up at about 2k rpm so I don't think it's in the bottom end. It hold oil pressure fine and We have no fuel leaks on the out side that we can see. Has any one delt with the or heard of any of this ? Thanks yall in advance

Compressor inducer to housing clearance?

Does anyone know what the minimum and maximum radial compressor inducer to compressor housing clearance is supposed to be on an s300 and an s400?



My s363 touched off just a bit, but the bearings are still good (.0015 clearance) and the shaft is straight. I'm thinking about opening up the clearance on my 366 before I install it.

47re swap in older truck

I recently swapped a 2000-2001 47re into my 1997 truck. The truck runs and drives but has some issues. The tranny won't go into overdrive, the tc lock up switch no longer work, the converter auto locks at 35mph in third, and I can't get itno 1st on the column.





I was told the transducer is different and switching that and the harness might fix the issues.



I would like to know if that is it or can I just rewire the 8 pin connector to make it work?

Another 48re question

I am currently running a 48re with a trple disc converter , billet shafts , ext

I went with the bd valve body during the build , the problem I'm having is the 2-3 shift is not exactly fast 1-2 shift is marginal ...I heard that they require a special servo spring to work properly ? Any one else run into this problem ?

I'm running an s472 (72/83/.90) on a steed speed second gen manifold. stock fuelling (for now) and a big mcc tune. saving up for a tranny and will throw fuel at it after, but in the mean time i wanna do a cam swap. i have read a couple good reviews about the hamilton 188/220 (.310"/.320" lift) in that it helped spool a big single similar to mine 3-400 rpm quicker, so id like to go with something similar. i however am gonna go with a colt cam as they are much easier for me to get. my dilemma is i cant decide wether to run the stage 3 (181/210 - .280"/.307" lift) or a stage 4 (181/218 - .280"/.323" lift). they are both drop in cams, but i just don't want any possibility of having a piston slap a valve lol. when i do the swap i will also install hamilton 103# valve springs and rps chromoly pushrods, and will be upping my rpm's to about 3700-4000rpm with mcc. any opinions are much appreciated.

NP-271D Swap: VSS HELP!

Hey guys, I am at end of my wits.



I just swapped in D80 with NP-271 from a '03 Ram 2500 Cummins.



My truck is driveable and have all gears and lock up (47RE) but no speedometer, odometer and cruise control (all in-op).



I used Dakota Digital SGI-5 C in an attempt to get my speedometer back with no success so far.



As much as I've searched, I've found no reliable source on how to get the speedometer back on 94-97 Rams. 98+ don't need this as they use the rear differential's wheel speed sensor (WSS) while the 94-97 use the VSS off the transfer case.



My truck only have RWAL, no ABS for the front. It's in-op since the day one I own the truck, no ABS lights at all, even if I have it disconnected.



I just put in a new D80 (almost all new except for ring&pinion) and got new WSS on it with new pigtail (for some reason my truck had some oddball sensor plug that do not match up to my truck's year on my old D70).

FWIW, the WSS is a two wire sensor



I hooked up the "12 volt accessory power" and "GROUND" no big deal.



"Sensor ground (if needed)": I hooked it up to one of the wire going to the WSS



"Speed input signal": on the other wire to the WSS.



I even switched them both with no change just in case it matters.



"OUT" 1 thr 5: VSS's signal output circuit, white/orange (orange is the tracer). I used all five terminals with no success.



I toyed with the four "ON/OFF" switches with combinations with no success at all also, even though the "Application #2" in the PDF stated they all should be "OFF".



In end, everything I did, none worked, none will move my speedometer needle at all.



I'm thinking the wiring between where I hooked up the WSS's to (under the dash), to the WSS sensor is broken/bad somewhere in between and am anticipating to run a new wire entirely to eliminate the possibility that there's wiring problem hindering my new set up's operation. Or I may have incorrect WSS sensor that have too much gap between the tone ring to the sensor?



So, anyone who did the NP-271 swap in their 94-97 Rams, what you did that worked? I am suppose to go on a road trip, close to 10k miles total in the next two months, first part starting this Friday. so I'll REALLY LOVE TO HAVE MY CRUISE CONTROL!! :nail: I will really appreciate your help!

I have a p-pump from a 190 horse bus engine. ran fine, but didn't like to stay idling, so selling it as a core. looking for $300. I will be at TS this Sat and can bring it.




diesel fuel quality?

So I'm always hand checking my fuel mileage and recently came up with some interesting results



I just finished a road trip from Rochester NY to Plymouth NH with all weather conditions being similar. 60 degrees and overcast/rain for both directions with little to no wind.



From NY to NH I averaged 16.7mpg at 75mph average on NY fuel



From NH to NY I averaged 19.25mpg at 75mph average on NH fuel.



Has anyone else noticed their mileage varying this much? Did I just find junk fuel in NY or maybe higher sulfur or something in NH? My truck has no tuning with intake, exhaust, and AD165. Just curious on your ideas




04.5/05 crank and rods, wiring harness, and 47rh billet converter for sale or trade

crank and rods are from a bone stock 04.5 with 140,000 miles that was run too many miles without an oil change. Three rods/rod journals are spun, the block was reused with a different crank. Crank and rods $200 obo/trade



Wiring harness from a 2005 auto, un-cut $200 obo/trade



billet converter that was bolted to a 95 12 valve engine that I bought used and put in another truck, it was running and driving before the engine was pulled $200 obo/trade



This stuff needs to go, if I am off on prices make an offer. In trade I need towing (100hp or less) injectors, turbo and clutch for a 2002 24V 5-speed truck. Always game for gun stuff and I have a 6.7 and 7.3 powerstroke if you have something I need for those.

97 complete motor 7.3

Complete motor for sale, came out of a 97 f250. I pulled the motor for a cummins swap. has 250k miles on it. Ran good. Everything is there other than the wiring harness. Still has turbo and injectors. the only thing wrong with it is, it needs the crank balanced, due to improperly replacing the flywheel/clutch and was left with a vibration. Still ran fine just needs to be balanced. asking $500 obo




Train Horns

How many of you guys have the REAL deal ? Nathan Air Chime or Leslie ? Looking to do a set on my truck, mainly for a conversation piece and looks. But maybe looking to get a set that is used or individual chimes and build a kit myself versus purchasing a complete set. I.E without compressor and lines and all that jazz. Anyone have a connection with someone that works at a rail yard that I could maybe purchase a set from, or a link to a site that sells them not in a kit. Did a couple searches and didn't come up with too much luck. Would really love a set of RS3L's, but would take anything I could get a hold of. I see myself getting in major trouble with K5LA's or K6LA's, and kind of prefer the tone of the RS3L's anyway.

high rpm power-steering

Anyone else have issues of blowing out power-steering fluid out of the reservoir when turning high rpm? 4500-6000 rpm. What can I do to stop this? This is on a 1999 model dodge.

Ve pump delivery valve return spring.

Would anyone happen to know of a place online that i could order dv return springs? Had 3 go bad out of the blue. Truck started running bad and missing so i parked it thinking my pump was bad. Later messed with the pump and removed the delivery valves and 3 springs had no spring to them. Never heard of this happening but i took 3 out of a another truck and it ran like a champ. But need to get some to put back in the other truck. Please let me know if you have seen or know of a place. Thanks!

Talked to Seth Farrell and I couple local shops about building a 13mm pump for me, but I would like to give you other guys that build them a chance to get me a quote.



Looking for 13mm Bosch P&B, 5k springs, auto governor, .093 dv holders, what ever delivery valves you recommend, and complete tear down and cleaning of pump and housing.

Getting started

I am a rookie well aware of it. Always liked compd so i got an account. Anything major i should know tell me. Really just like to get on and further my knowledge in the diesel world. You can never know it all. Already made a post in the "wanted" trying to sell. It was a simple mistake didnt realize where i posting. Hopefully wont get to much crap over it. Tig/Plasma Combo Machines

I've been scouring around looking at tig welding machines. Don't want to buy new, just a smaller used machine for project in the shop. Single phase 220v preferably. Then I ran across a vendor on craigslist selling a tig/plasma combo. Interesting!



Got to digging and found out they are just mostly a chinese brand with different stickers and paint. I google searched the brand and reading some other forums it seems folks have really good luck out of them. A few gripe about them, but to be expected.



After looking at Miller, Lincoln, Hobart, they don't manufacture a tig/plasma combo machine. Does this mean these combo machines are not worth a hoot if the big guys don't bother with them? Anyone here have one of these combo machines?




2.6 ? Flat Beds

Are flat beds allowed in 2.6? I looked on the site in the rule book and didn't find it, I would like to know before I haul my truck 800 plus miles. thanks




Sterling Bullet

Any one successfully tuned a sterling bullet? Ive read a few and the OS is not compatible with EFI.. I have a customer that has one and wants twins, injectors and EFI.. I am just seeing if there is a way to tune this, or swap a dodge truck ecm to it? I know a smarty and h&s both can flash one.




Transmission Table

Anyone got any pics of their transmission tables? Preferably homemade but I'm open to suggestions. Mainly looking for one I can clamp the case to and spin it for ease of access.

Cummins parts

I am new to the site and have some things im trying to get rid of. Been siting around and collecting dust.



I have a hx40 with a bae cartridge with less than 3000 miles. It is not a 7 blade charger but still does good. Looking for a s366 but will sell for right price.



Also have a 93 intercooled wiring harness bought it but never used it and have no need for it.



Have a sending unit for a 89 cummins tank it is red and there hard to find. Plus a new lift pump from genos garage for firstgen.



Also a set of push rods out of a 03 common rail there not bent have surface rust would be fine to use if you went stock just need some cleaning.
