12 valve charging issue

I was rewiring the fuel pump switch tonight, when a hot wire (straight from battery to relay) grounded out on the body. This caused the stereo to reset to default settings, the trip odometer reset, and now my alternator is only putting out 10.x volts, and dropping slowly. Measuring the alternator output off the back of it. I also smelled a hot glue gun smell for a couple minutes coming from the under the hood while truck was running.



Any one know if these are signs of something bigger, or all is good and I'll just need a new alternator?
