had it for about 2 years, one of which the truck was down for, no rust.




Project gone south package deal... 94 crew cab, new twins, 47rh. $6,500...

I'm just tired of messing with trying to sell my stuff and not lose money... So, I'm ready to just take my screwing. I'll take $6,500 cash or paypal (if you pay the 3 percent fee) for my 94 dodge true crew cab, new set of DPS 64/s480 polished twins, and a completely stock 47rh trans, transfer case, converter, flex plate, and front driveshaft.

The interior of the truck is removed except for the drivers seat. The rust is is horrible in the cab where the conversion was done, but the doors are good. It has a great bed, fenders, and hood.

The air filter, filter tube, oil lines, and I believe an oil line bung is missing from the kit. About $300 worth from DPS. Kit is over $4,500 from DPS with polished housings and enlarged wastegate.

You can fly in and drive it home anywhere. It's ugly, but runs well. No blow by. None. Motor is stock.

47re help needed

I installed a rebuilt 47re recently that is a mild build with single disc and valve body. Before my first drive I hooked up gauge to accumulator port and its reading 80-90 at idle in drive and 125psi at WOT . The trans also felt like it was slipping when I drove the truck and it heated up fast, I stopped driving before it could reach 200. I checked the oil cooler flow and its all good. I changed the fluid and filter and found a decent amount of crap in the bottom of the pan. I took it out again and still felt slippy especially in TC lockup and maxed at 125psi.



So I took it out the next day and then it put out 125-135 at idle and 150-165 at full pedal. It didnt feel like it was slipping as bad but in TC lockup it slips worse than the worn out stock trans.



Finally I took it out today and its reading between 150 and 175 psi at idle and at wide open throttle. Still slips like an sob in overdrive lockup also.



Now, in park and neutral only I also have a rhythmic vibration that goes up and down with rpms that was not present before this transmission was installed. Only in neutral and park, no other gears.



i think the transmission guy really screwed me on this one. Anyone know what may be wrong?

compounds/injectors advice

ok long story short, I have an he351 and an ht60 with 23cm housing sitting in my shop. the truck has valve springs gov springs, head studs, 100 plate, and bd 60hp injectors. its a 175 horse motor stock. I plan on making the setup this winter, but im not sure on injector size to go to, and im not sure what the pop off valves in the charge tube are for? this is all in a qclb 1984 f350. I tow my Toyota on a trailer but plan on upgrading to a larger trailer and camper in the future. any help or advice would be great thanks in advance..

271D t-case

I have a good manual shift 271D t-case. $400




Clutch DDC3600

I installed a south bend DDC-3600 in my nv4500. I called south bend about a few things like the pedal going soft when shifting at 3800-4000rpm in my 12 valve. I can't let the clutch out without a little throttle in 1st and 2nd otherwise it will stall out. Is this normal ? Anything I can do to improve ? I was thinking I should be able to let the clutch out without it stalling. It's idling at 700-800rpm.

So dad is looking to buy a used magnum probably 71 72 or possibly a 89 series. We just tore up the rear end and hydraulic pump in our 1486. I was doing a little research for him and I was wondering if there were any problems too watch out for. Rough startup after sitting

If my truck sits for more than a day, it sounds like it starts on one cylinder after giving it plenty of fuel and turning the motor over for a few seconds, it shakes for about 5 seconds and it runs fine. Starts fine after sitting for an hour or two. Feels like the injector lines are mostly empty after taking them off and having to re-prime them, but they stay on.



I have swapped the injectors, nothing changed. Put a FASS100 on, nothing changed. When I put the FASS pump on, I ran the injector overflow straight to the tank and removed the stock filter and fuel heater. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

Need help replacing "drip" weatherstrip

Anyone have some hints on how to replace the "drip" weatherstrip on the door? It's the top piece of weatherstrip on the cab. I tried sliding it in and of course, that didn't work. I tried putting the top edge in first and then I can't get the bottom in. :doh:

4bt lube pump in a 6bt

My 12 valve calls for lube pump and oil cooler (3957544). I found a lube pump(4939585) and oil cooler (3957543)out of a 4bt that is in great shape. I was wondering what the difference is and if the parts are usable? The part numbers are off and I have not had a chance to look at the difference.

bus pump low power?

Hello, I've done some reading and pretty sure I've got my answer, but just to get a straight answer...... is there any difference between a school bus p7100 (230hp) and a dodge pickup p7100? Overall reason for question is I have a issue with my truck where it just does not feel like it has any power and there's very little boost. Specs are 95 Cummins (from dodge truck), bored .040th's over to 6.0, enterprise engine kit, bus p7100, non stock fuel plate, turned up boost screw, torkteknology 50hp overflow valve, 5x14 injectors, 64/74/14 II Silverbullet. Boost gauge is only hitting around 15psi. Truck is a 97 CCSB F350 with e4od trans, banks billet torque convertor and 3.55 gears. I'm also having issues with the PCS trans controller, so maybe the trans is holding the engine back also, but for what the engine has, I can't believe it shouldn't be more powerful.

Just looking for some ideas as what to check, or maybe something wrong in the pump. As far as I can tell I don't have any boost leaks either. Thanks for reading.

Total Seal Piston Rings Gapless Top ring?

I bought a set of 6 Ross pistons and a set of NIB Total Seal Rings. Had the pistons Ceramic coated at Calico coating along with antiscuff on the skirts. After opening the box of piston rings I find they are gapless top ring with a Napier second ring. I contacted Ross and they said I should be fine under 70-75psi of boost. Im running a custom S480 and I should be fine there. I have contacted one other member on here that I read back in 2008 was running gapless top Total Seal Rings and he had good results. Anyone care to give an opinion being im still waiting on parts before I assemble? Pros and Cons are welcome

I have a 2000 auto 2wd that has a edge ez. I ran up on a deal for some injectors. They're 175 hp. Exhaust is still factory but that's going to change soon. Will I be able to drive the truck normally without much problem is my question. I have a new VP 44 and an aftermarket lift pump as well

My radio in my 05 will not play. Looks as if it's playing and has power but no sound from the speakers. It is the stock infinity system. I read somewhere that a flash from the dealer would fix it is that so??? Any advice??




97 no low end?

I just picked up a stock 97 12v with a raptor100 and it is a auto, it is completely gutless on bottom end until 1800 rpms. AFC stock location. Haven't been able to check plate yet. Acts like it is running a massive single but it is not. No smoke of any color. And when running around town and the converter locks in od it slowly dies. And ideas why and what to check? Will 2008 Smarty ME tune work on 2010

I sold my 2008 6.7 and uninstalled the S67ME I had installed on it. My Smarty has the 23ME software update which was written in November 2010. I recently bought a 2010 6.7 which was built in May of 2010. Will my Smarty work on my 2010 since the update was written months after my truck was manufactured? Or does the 2008 and 2010 models have completely different ECMs? Thanks in advance for any help!




Belt driven lift pump plumbing

Im planning on doing a custom fuel system on my 2wd truck,

Please correct me if I'm planning this wrong, not a lot of info on the subject that I can find.

starting at the tank with a billet sump in the bottom, 1/2 Goodyear hose from there to the -10 areomotive prefilter. To the ICM, Then to the billet obx belt drive pump. Then to the Donaldson water seperater, then to the fuel filter,then areomotive -10 bypass regulator, and on to the cp3.

I already have the hose, tons of -10 fittings, couple pulleys for the pump, areomotive regulator and prefilter. Just need a pump and fab the brackets. Do I have the right idea on the plumbing? I Live in ky, do y'all think the fuel heater is needed? I drive the truck 2-300 miles a week maybe,

I know the ebay obx pump isn't the best choice, not many people trust them, but then again not many has tried em, I met an older guy at my local drag strip a month ago who had one on a CR dodge, dual cp3, big single turbo, he said nothing but good things about it, said he'd made plenty passes with the setup, I think he told me it was 1:1 belt setup and regulator set on 20 or 25 psi.

Where/how to watch live sports online?

Several of y'all seem crafty at the interwebs & its secret places so where or how can I watch live sports, particularly college football & basketball, for very cheap or better yet, on the free? I don't have ability to do espn3.




To much oil in the A/C system, what now?

Start of this year I noticed the A/C wasn't cooling very well, so I charged it up and started leak checking, found that a service port was leaking so I replaced the lines and dryer/filter. When I did this I shot a can of oil charge in first, followed by 134 till correct pressures were reached. I noticed that it would not really cool well until the engine had gotten above 1500 rpm or so, and basically acted like it was a bit low on 134. It still worked fairly good, so I just ignored it and didn't think to much about it.



About a month ago I had the joy of hearing something let go in the system and the A/C quit cooling again, knowing I had a heater core leak I figured it to be the evaporator giving up under pressure. This past weekend I got the dash out and replaced everything, pulled a vacuum on the system and let it sit overnight. The next morning it was still holding good numbers so I shot just 134 into the system until pressures were correct, added no oil.



The system acts like it did before, cools really good so long as the engine RPM's are up a bit, just OK at idle. I kept track of how much 134 went in and it was 1 full 12oz can, about 3/4 of another one. According to the sticker on the radiator support, the system should take 2lbs of gas (32oz) and I figure I put in about 20oz, so obviously something else is taking up room in there and the only thing I can think of is added oil.



What can I remove and drain with the best chance of getting some out? From the sounds when it is shut down, there is a decent bit trapped in the condenser so that is my first thought to get into. Manual valve Body Install

Got around to finally doing a full manual valve body in my Suncoast 48re. Here are a few tips for those who plan to go at this in the future with some of the questions i had along the way.



Heres what i used:

-Trans Go TFOD-3 manual valve body kit

-a 46re valve body, yes a 46re will also work just fine

-Turbo Action SCS Cheetah shifter

-some misc electrical connectors and wires

-sockets, screw drivers, a bench top grinder, drill



MAKE SURE TO BLOCK THE TRUCK SO IT WONT ROLL, YOU WILL BE UNHOOKING THE PARKING ROD IN THE TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!



Removing the valve body is straight forward, remove shifter linkage and tv motor or cable, drain the oil, remove the pan and filter, remove all the 11mm valve body bolts except for one or two to hold it up while you remove the parking rod c clip. C clip is located on the underside of where my finger tip is, use a long flat head screwdriver to pop it off then pull the valve body out

Installing the Trans Go kit is pretty straight forward, just follow the directions and you shouldnt have any issues. However i recommend drilling the holes they instruct you to, to the biggest size they state in the instructions. Your also required to grind three things. I used my bench top grinder and it was a piece of cake. The rest is swapping springs and such.

Second gear lockup, fill this passage with jb weld and level it off with a razor before it cures all the way.

Here is 1st gear lockup if you want it, i didnt so if someone drives my truck it will automatically unlock on the downshift to first and not stall out.

The instructions say to not take this PR bolt past 5 turns, this is line pressure. I tried 5 turns and had the tv arm set wide open. This does NOT work, it causes a 2-3 shift issue. You have to set the tv arm at about 80%, and turn the line pressure bolt up to almost the halfway point. This gave me about 180psi constant pressure and no shifting issues, you may need to drop the pan to adjust it for your application but thats life. Here is where you check line pressure

You can leave or remove your tv cable or motor, and the same with your column shifter and linkage. I chose to remove mine. Unbolting both at the transmission was a piece of cake, next is onto the steering column to remove the shifter.

This is the location of the shifter, you will need to remove the panel under the steering wheel for room

This is the one bolt on the backside that you need to remove to pull the shifter, may help to take the plastic off around the steering column to reach the screw.

Next up is wiring for the valve body. Because of the way my shifter linkage was setup, i had to do away with the Neutral Safety Switch that plugs into the transmission. I filled the hole with a plug and ultra black rtv like pictured below. However that box contains the NSS wire which must be grounded for the vehicle to start. I grounded mine to the trans so it will start in any gear. You may hook this up to your shifters nss or do the same as i did.

This is the NSS plug which will no longer will connect to anything but we need to hookup 3 wires to it. The far right wire pictured(br/yl) is the neutral safety switch wire that must be grounded or hooked up to a switch to start. The middle(pur/bk) and far left(brown) must be hooked up to a switch or other device to control your reverse/backup lights. One wire into the switch, the other out the switch, simple as that.

Next up is a 12v source, torque converter ground, and overdrive ground.

Obviously tc and overdrive are easy, just run a wire to a switch, the ground on the other side of the switch. The plug at the transmission has a red 12v wire that will show voltage with the key on, but once running the engine the pcm will cut off that voltage because it thinks the transmission is having an error because its not getting feed back from sensors. So you need to hookup a KEY-on 12v to feed the red wire which is Pin #1. If you look closely on the face of the plug it shows the pin numbers. See plug pinout below

Last part is the shifter install, im not going through my install because it is a 100% personal preference on how you want it setup. BUT I WILL SAY, after using the Cheetah shifter there is no way i would have been happy with a ratchet type shifter!! Trust me on that one. Anyway heres my setup, still working on the mount and have to build my sheet metal box around it to mount switches and make for a clean install. The 4x4 floor shifter will still be functional and ill post pics when im done building it. Its in a super comfortable spot that feels natural to drive.

hard fuel lines

Hey are any of you running hard fuel lines? I need to replace my -8 braided stainless fuel hose (salt killed it). At 160.00 for 25 ft. I was thinking Just running aluminium hard line then a foot of the braided to finish it off. Am i missing something ?




fresh motor , knocks ,then doesnt , repeat

out together a fresh motor for the year and still chasign a few gremlins , i have a knock that if held at say 1500 rpms the motor runs perfect but every few secs its knocks 4or 5 times then nothing, then its does it again , will do this pattern constantly even when it knocks its doesnt effect how it runs , its a slower knock the main rpm i think , motors a 03 5.9 , carrilos , girdle , balanced , bushings in all cam holes , dual pumps , big sticks, its in my puller that has only made two hooks this year any guesses would be great thanks




12 valve head round-up

My 25 year old 400,000 mile engine finally had some sort of oiling/ headgasket issue/ cylinder issue.



I'm looking at buying a short block in a week. I'm going to need a head to put on it.



What companies are out there now offering mildly-moderately ported and ringed heads?



I see Haisley is offering used heads for pretty cheap? I wouldn't mind a worked-over used one considering the short block is going to be used as well...



Is Hamilton's offering a totally aftermarket casting?



Who should I be looking at? I'm not looking for anything extreme, just not stock.




popped my turbo tonight

I just put in a set of 035 delivery valves in my 160 pump. We made two good pulls on the road and pop went my Hx 40. Pumped pretty much all my oil into the intercooler and out the exhaust.I shut my engine down as soon as I noticed I had no oil pressure. Turns out the nut came off the shaft compressor is wasted not much of a surprise. Do you all think the engine got hurt from no oil pressure? I'm trying to decide what turbo to go with now. I have a brand new hx52 with 64mm compressor and a wastegated turbine. But I'm not real sure if I can swing it. Thoughts? On a side note it was running pretty good when the charger let go.

These dvs supposedly fuel like full cuts but with better bottom end control. I ran a set of 7mm + 100 cc then swapped those out for the comp set and there was an obvious difference.

Im looking for a good set of 5x20 12v injectors, I do have a stock set of injectors if needed for trade or cores.




Hand made gun sling

A couple of years ago I made two for gifts, they were really well received so I made a bunch of plain ones and have them at a local gun shop to see how they sell. This one is my personal one I just finished. I didn't want any shiny stuff on it at all and no buckles so everything is either hand stitched or held together with rawhide lacing. They are way longer than anything that you can buy at a store. Most of those seem to be to short all the time.

Stall speed

Need to get my converter re-stalled as it is really tight from a previous setup I had on the truck. The new setup is a 64/67/14 over a S475 (1.32 A/R), 5x14's, 181/210, Marine style pistons (about 16:1 compression), and a mildly ported and matched head/manifold. Elevation is about 3000-4000 ft.



Truck is used as a daily driver now and will tow (~8000 lbs). Problem I have now is the converter is so tight I have to idle it at 1000 rpm's in park so it doesn't kill the motor when in drive with the AC on. It also makes stopping a little bit of a pain as it is always trying to push through the brakes.



What would be a good stall speed for this setup and still be a good street/tow truck? Was think about 1800-2000 rpm.

Hey guys I bought an 01 p pump 24v 3 months ago for a work truck. I pull a trailer a lot and run 80-85 on interstate. So needless to say my boost is usually up.



So my problem is it pukes oil out of the stock breather. I really don't want to put breathers in the valve cover and wonder what you guys have built.



Also is this a common problem with these? It's really bad when I'm pulling I had 12k on my trailer and was running 80 for a 300 mile trip. At the end both inner fenders had oil on them and the whole freakin truck had a mist of oil down the sides and tailgate!



Forgot to add truck is stock with a 180 pump 7x12s 188 cam and hx35.




Dually Balancers

These balancers slip over the hub behind the wheels. These will each balance 9 oz of weight and would be a great for large wheels. They were used on the truck for 5 months before being removed for a SRW conversion. Looking to get $250 plus shipping.




Where can i find a....

O ringed thermostate block off plate?? Or even just a block off plate for a 12v? Figured id ask before i attemped to make one.

Pistons, rings, clips

Don't know if these pistons could be of use for anyone for a 4BT or not. They were .020" Cummins 24v pistons that had .040" valve reliefs cut and coated by PolyDyn, Tops & skirts



This engine wanted to be a 4Cyl so bad it gave 5 & 6 the boot. Lol

The others are fine and the coating still looks good.

New set of rings P/N 3802918 and clips.



I just sprayed them with some WD-40 and put them in a box and just got around to pulling them out cleaning the garage.

I can put them in the parts washer and scrub them up better if someone is interested and wanted.

Smarty SSR wont fuel over 3400

Ive got an 05 with a s468, 120hp DDP injectors, evil twin cp3's, FASS 220. i just got a Smarty SSR new last week and Ive tried running LLT 24, HLT 28, LLRP 10, HLRP 10, LLD 20, HLD 30. Tq 2



But my problem is I cant get the truck to spin over 3400rpm goin down the road. I have the rpm limit set at 5000rpm. I would think it would at least fuel to 3800rpm.



Any help would be appreciated,

rail pressure issue

I have an 03 with 90 HP injectors, cp3 has bag of parts, air dog 150 and an additional adjustable dad's 150 run inline with it, homemade compound setup with silver 62 over a TV7512. I have good rail pressure always first starting and after that it's intermittent. I thought maybe lift pump hence the the dual pumps. But I have a mechanical gauge hooked up and it occasionally will drop to 8psi on a hard run. I then capped the prv. I thought also maybe the fca so have swapped it back and forth with the stocker with no avail. I thought maybe a leakdown due to injectors tubes but have done the whole install procedure twice by the book twice using torque wrenches. It's not a case of being up to temp and fuel leaking at the tubes because going down the road I can throw it neutral, kill it, start it back up and the rail pressure sometimes will go back up. Cascade valve perhaps?




Dyno'ed yesterday.

Went to Rockingham Dragway NHRDA event and dyno'ed the Fummins.It did 563hp and 936ft.lbs. torque on a Mass Diesel performance Dynojet.A little low for what I have done.The AirDog 165 is set at 40psi,but as soon as you hit the throttle it goes to 20psi or less.I had the operator pull to 3500,4000 and 4200 rpms.The chart showed peek power at 3250rpms with torque little before that.I don't know what boost was or egt's.The smoke didn't clear up completely,but wasn't real thick black either.My set up is as follows:

98 180hp 12V,benched pump 468cc with 181's,but have 7mm dv's in it,5k,100 plate,AFC set at like 40psi full forward,Weston 5x.016,22 degrees timing,Maxspool 2.5 cam,63/68/.70 over 75/96/1.32,63's waste gate set at 18psi,.010 head gasket and o-ringed,ported head,dual feed,AD 165 40psi.Really was thinking power would be somewhere in the mid 600's.What's y'all's take on it?

Mini turbos

I have 2 skid steer turbos that I got from a Komatsu repair shop. I'm assuming they came off skid steers.



I was going to make a set of twin turbos for my kubota tractor but landed up selling it and getting a larger tractor.



Not sure on the size of the turbos or any other info. The wheels spin BUT I do not know if they need rebuilding. These are sold as cores
