I decided I needed to go bigger, so here I am! I may be a misfit here (cuz my ride is a bus), but I love diesels, LOVE 7.3's and love car "guys" ("people"). We might all have some fun here. 72 years old and I've had a LOT of cars, trucks, diesels, race cars, tri 5 Chevys. Street raced early 40's straight 8 Buicks on the street back in the early 60's. 6.7 build
Looking to start building my truck a little. It's a 2008 i currently have the h&s with mcc tuning by Ryan Miliken. I'm wanting to do a small build on it, first of all my goal is to make a reliable daily driven truck. That being said I am in the process of getting a suncoast built 68rfe comp trans to replace my stock one aswell as starting off with a set of 100hp nozzles.
Looking for opinions on what other things I should invest in like head studs a drivable turbo that isn't super laggy.
Also looking for opinions on tuning. I have the h&s so I would like to stick with that for right now. I know efi can be better but I'd like to start with the h&s.
Now keep in mind while doing this I am going to do this right but am sticking to a budget. Anyone with input or any good used parts I am game and it's very appreciated.

Hey Gang...
I'm not a Duramax owner but I've got a local guy here that is. He's got a 2007 Duramax which is throwing a P0101 code and going into limp mode too much or regen'ing too much. The owner would like to know what he has to do to delete all the emission junk and get around this. So could you all help him out?

I just wanted to let everyone here know that I will putting the Dakota on the market for sale. My life has taken some turns and I just dont have time that I used to have to enjoy it as much as I used to. Im not selling it because I have to im selling it because I want someone else to enjoy it and appriciate it as much as I have. Last year I joined a hunting club in Pike county which i have access to the 1200 plus acres year round and the year before that I got Sam my German Shepherd (which u have all met).
This leaves me very little time to travel especially overnight with my truck, in fact it has been sitting in the garage that I rent for over a year.
As u may know it needs a transmission rebuild or a new one and it needs a heater core. On top of that it basically needs to be finished from the level that I have it now. Which would include getting the dash functional and the A/C functional.
I know aprox how much I have into the truck and I know there is no way ill get it back but im not going to take a beating just to sell it. If I get a decent offer ill send it down te road for someone else to enjoy.

Bent Push Rod? Whats next?
I recently cleaned injectors. Put everything together and started truck. The sound from the exhaust sounded rougher than before I took it all apart. Went back through and found #6 exhaust pushrod was bent. Just slightly had to put on flat surface and noticed that way. These are the heavy duty rods. So I put my stock pushrod back in. I however did not adjust the valve lash for that cylinder. After the stock rod was installed it still didnt sound like normal from the exhaust. Could this be a simple valve lash adjustment or did I bend something else as well?

47re delayed engagement update
Hello all I finally rounded up some time to play with the trans. Thought i would post what was found. Maybe someone could add some insight on what happened? I added a link to the old thread since its been a wile. The truck is more of a toy so it sits in my shop most of the time.
Anyway what happened was the sealing rings on the input shaft were marred up and the bushing that is inside the pump for the input shaft came loose. The thing I'm trying to wrap my head around is why or even if the heat really caused the bushing failure. There are no signs of heat anyware. All the clutches looked good and no warped or discolored steels. Maybe some one could shed some light on what may have happened to cause the bushing failure?
I ordered the parts and am thinking on putting it back together on Friday that is if parts show. If anyone has an idea on how to keep this from happening again or why it happened it would greatly appreciated.

Reading the ppl 2.6 rules I guess hydraulic steering is permitted, what kind of setups do you run? Any setup out to run in place of the vacuum pump?

1998 vw jetta tdi for parts
I am looking to sell my 1998 VW Jetta TDI 5 speed. I bought it last summer as a non runner. Got it running and found a few more issues. The biggest being the #1 lifter having a deep wear mark, resulting in a crack in the lifter. The cam looks fine for the miles on it, which i was told was in the 300,000 mile range, although the odometer only says 23,xxx. never figured that one out.

Anybody have a connection to get the tranny cooler lines? I need the out line from the tranny to the heat exchanger and all the lines and hoses coming off of it! I blew one line out from the tranny and probably should change them all!

What kind of RPM is needed to spool the wh1c turbocharger?
Good friend of mine stuffed a VE engine with 47rh in to a 2006 1500 QC truck. The trans was rebuilt with stock internals, but the stall speed of the converter is 2k rpms. I am assuming the exhaust housing is 18 or 21. The engine was originally attached to a 5spd in the donor truck.
The truck is a dog, even with a little extra fuel, and rolling the pump a little.
Couldn't find any definitive threads discussing spool up on these turbocharges.

I'm having a defuel issue that's driving me nuts! At full throttle the fuel pressure will spike to 26000 and the truck will defuel and fall on it's face! I've had a P0088 code come up but now it just sets the CEL and leaves no code.

2003 ccsb f250 4x4 lariat 6spd cummin conversion
The add is in craigslist for description and pictures. I just dont need a project anymore. I got the conversion 98% done and found out it needs a vp44 . So i never got to removing the chrom rockers and getting it painted. Found something else i want and she has to go. Its a shame but oh well. Aermet Input Shaft

Listing up Aermet input shaft that we ran last season. Had a slight twist after we removed it for a converter restall last year and decided to not go back in the race truck with it and instead put it in my tow truck where it has lived for the last 6 months at 500hp towing 20k lbs without issue. Bought a new 2015 duramax and put my dodge back to stock. Shaft will work and most likely live even back in a high horsepower application just didnt want to risk it and waited on a phat shaft 4 disk for the race truck. Asking $550 shipped. 936-402-5463

i have a 2004.5 dodge cummins i bought it had a piston melt down on number four and scarred the side of the chamber. we are about where we are gonna be pulling the motor. So me and my pops and uncle are waiting to put a used cummins motor and we are looking for the same year but there is not any. i was wondering if i could put a 12valve or a 2nd gen 24valve even and early 03-04 common rail in it with any major modifications. it has a g56 4x4 tranny and is lifted 4inches crewcab and shortbed. if we could, could u guys give us an idea what we have to do to make everything compatible.

94 47RH transmission no OD no LU
I have been trying to help out a teenage farmer from down the road. He brought his truck to me a month or so ago for no OD, no LU. It was the TPS, I put mine on his truck and sent him on his way fixed.
He puts batteries in his truck, shorts one out when he shuts the hood. Now he has no LU, no OD.
I hooked to it, it has TPS input. The only thing out of place is the trans temp is - 36 Celsius. He gets the (object) and puts in his trans line. Now his dashboard temp light is coming on.
Is there a sensor on the VB ? I didn't have time to look at the relay to the trans supply.

steering gearbox options
looking at buying a new gearbox due to the sector shaft play. only remaining thing left in my steering that has any wear. play is almost gone but obvious road wonder still exists. a factory reman is 140 from napa maybe 120 after they fanagel the price for me. my question is does the price of a red head or borgeson justify their cost?

I have a recently freshened 2.6 charger off my 12 valve. Always ran with a filter. Has upgraded 360* thrust bearing, t4 foot, 4 inch marmon exhaust flange. 75/83/1.00 ar. Look at attached sheet for information. Rebuilt by fairvalley performance in WI. I see 10psi at 1800 rpm with this on my truck. Only has two pulls, and a handful of street miles (20 or so)

Oil pressure drop/loss
So i was driving causally and noticed my oil light come on a off thought it was off looked at oil pressure and it would drop to 0 then go back to normal levels. Truck ran fine egts fine. Pulled over and shut truck off, oil was coming from passanger side and was all over the intake and turbo and inner wheel well, could i have blown the seal on the oil filter? Or maybe a turbo line? Need input thanks!:bang

Turbo Replacment Tips and Tricks
Hey guys I'm about to swap turbos on my 6.7L, don't get to excited it's just a Stock for a Stock to try and remove the Turbo Code.
Never done it before, do you guys have and tips/Tricks/must have tools for this job?
Also how long does it take to do it? I plan to start soaking the studs and such in penetrating oil 24 Hours in advance.

I have 3 6.7 blocks for sale. One block is in perfect shape, the other 2 are out of wrecked trucks. The blocks are broke where the lower water elbow goes in. Weeping Head Gasket While Pulling '95 12v HELP!!
Just bought a 24 ft enclosed car hauler to move cross country. Got it all loaded up (around 11k lbs total), and pulled it around some today. Noticed coolant all over the passenger side of the engine. Thought it might have been a hose or water pump, but it has pretty clear rust stains on the front passenger side of the block just under the head. Looks to be weeping coolant out the head gasket. I just towed this trailer back 6 1/2 hrs from Southern GA to Knoxville, TN and lost some coolant, but not enough to really worry about. The truck doesn't run hot and pulls awesome.
It does seem to be losing a lot more with the loaded trailer behind it. Are there any temporary fixes for this? Retorquing head bolts, sealant..etc!? If not, I may have to purchase another truck for the trip. Planned to leave tomorrow..

5.9 oil pan
I'm looking for an oil pan for my 12 valve. I brazed and epoxied mine, but its got a bunch of other rust spots, so I'd rather pick up another.

What sleeves do you guys like for the 4.21 bore? 3/32 or 1/8 wall?
