Exhaust manifold design

I am about to build an SS manifold for my 4BT project. The turbo has the 2 port flange. When building the manifold, how far in should the divider between the 2 ports extend? The turbo flange will be centered and angled up about 45 degrees. I could split the manifold and have 2 cylinders feed each port or allow crossing between the 2. Is there any science to doing one or the other? Or a percentage of crossing over?
