Bob Chow 1911 value

I just bought a Bob Chow 1911. The serial number says is a 1917 issue. It is not the original finish and has been hard chromed. It has Bo Mar sights. I was wondering what the value of it might be. I bought it from a friend who's son passed away and the family was trying to get money up for expenses. I could have and don't care if I over paid, but I would like to know what the value is. I have found prices 1000 to 3000. Any input would be appreciated.
